Presented by Tasha Wilburn, Lecturer, Business Administration

Unconscious biases are social stereotypes formed outside of our own conscious awareness. These unconscious beliefs about various social and identity groups stem from our human tendency to organize and categorize the world. Unconscious bias can affect the morale and overall experience of employees, co-workers, classmates and peers, leaving individuals feeling alienated and less likely to share their ideas. We must recognize our unconscious biases in order to be more intentional about diversity and inclusivity.
