Prejudice, Aggression and the Psychological Roots of Our Conflicted Society
Monday, Nov. 4 | 12:15 – 1:15 p.m.
Metro Campus | MCC 201
Guest: Alan Gerding, Assistant Professor, Psychology, Metro Campus

As Election Day nears, we are constantly reminded of group divisions within American society. This conversation tackles the psychology behind these patterns of division, explaining how the presence of others impacts our behavior often in ways we don’t intend. Are we hardwired for conformity, prejudice and aggression? Are you prejudiced? Are we doomed to be divided or can we use knowledge of social psychology to reduce societal tension and build empathy?

If you can’t attend in person, watch these discussions on Webex.
