Veterans Memorial Day Celebration

PROJECT PATRIOT & MODERN WARRIOR VIDEO PREMIERS

First Segment (10-10:30 a.m.): Showcases the College’s involvement with the U.S. Library of Congress—Project Patriot and features a 15-minute video of veteran testimonials. 

Second Segment (10:30-11 a.m.): Features Dominick Farinacci and student veteran Jaymes Poling discussing their live stage musical project, Modern Warrior, and includes a 15-minute video produced to promote the show. (The show will premier in New York in November 2017).

CRILE VETERANS CENTER & ARCHIVES TOURS
Western Campus

Tour the Crile Archives and the newly dedicated Western Campus Crile Veterans Center.

PLANTING OF THE POPPIES CEREMONY
Western Campus Veterans Memorial Garden

Keynote Speaker: Dr. James Banks. He will reflect on the United States’ entry into World War I and Dr. George Crile’s work, noting the tie to Tri-C’s Western Campus. Those in attendance will receive ceremonial poppies for planting in the College’s Veterans Memorial Garden.

Tri-C alumnus and national jazz trumpeter recording artist—and producer of Modern Warrior—Dominick Farinacci will play the National Anthem, Battle Hymm of the Republic (during the planting of poppies) and Taps at the end of ceremony.

Brookpark’s 3/25th Marines will serve as the honorary color guard.

12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
COMMUNITY MEMORIAL DAY PICNIC
Western Campus Cafeteria Patio Area
Hot dogs, chips and pop will be served
