The Bediuzzaman Said Nursi Chair in Islamic Studies presents the 10th Annual Week of Islamic Art and Culture

All events will take place at 7 p.m. in the Donahue  Auditorium of the Dolan Science Center on the campus of John Carroll University.

Light refreshments will follow.

Wednesday, April 19
Fr. Michael Calabria, Director of the Center for Arab & Islamic Studies at St. Bonaventure University, will give a presentation titled “Worth the Price: the Necessity of Islamic Art in an Iconoclastic Age.” He will discuss the value of Islamic art as a vital aid to understanding Islamic societies in all their chronological and cultural diversity, uniquely woven from many cultural and confessional strands.
