Jazz Brunch - Bobby Floyd Trio
Bobby Floyd Trio is the perfect mix of talent and experience that produces a notable sound with a feel that goes beyond mere live entertainment. It's the perfect way to end JazzFest!
Bobby Floyd's talent has launched him into a very rewarding career, putting him in demand and making him one of the favorite, first-call pianists/organists for many well-known artists. He has traveled the world accompanying Ray Charles on piano and organ and as organist for the Grammy Award-winning artist, Dr. John. He's also toured nationally and internationally from 2012-2017 as the feature pianist for the world-famous and legendary Count Basie Orchestra.
Derek DiCenzo, who will join Floyd on bass and guitar, is a full-time multi-instrumentalist based in Columbus, Ohio for many years; his diverse influences and uncanny musical intuition has made him a much sought-after player. He has toured and recorded with Jamaican-born jazz piano sensation Monty Alexander for many years, performing at jazz festivals, clubs, and concert halls all over the world.
Reggie Jackson, a Columbus Ohio native and graduate of The Ohio State University, will join Floyd on drums. Jackson has performed in more than 20 countries with artists such as Frank Foster, Benny Golson, Eddie Daniels, Kirk Whalum, Wycliffe Gordon, Rodney Whitaker, Lew Tabackin, and Antonio Hart.
